Butterfly and Pollinator Garden

The Butterfly Garden, with its sprays of magenta bee-balm, white spirea, and yellow alyssum, is among the most popular places to stroll in the Arboretum. In the spring and summer, butterflies such as monarchs and great spangled fritillaries flit amongst the colorful flowers, accompanied by bees, hummingbird moths, and even ruby-throated hummingbirds. Visitors will find the Butterfly Garden buzzing with life and may enjoy resting on the picnic table or beneath the weeping katsura tree to take it all in. The Butterfly Garden was designed by Belle Choate and Tom Tidman in 1992.
