Rock Garden
This garden, located across the main lawn from the Taylor Road parking lot, was designed by Sue Whitcomb around a large, naturally occurring granite ledge. In 2016, the Town used heavy machinery to dig up and remove surrounding turf, further exposing the ledge for landscaping. Patio stones and boulders provide surfaces for visitors to walk and rest as they admire the unique plantings in this area. Volunteers filled the hollows and crevices around the ledge with a mixture of soil and gravel before planting alpine species specially suited to rocky environments, including a dwarf linden tree, clematis, sedum, iris, dianthus, and more.
